Full-time Outdoor Instructor Training Course |

| Course Dates: |
8th October - 14th December 2007 & 7th January – 1st March 2008 |
| Course Duration: |
18 Weeks – 5 days per week. |
| Times: |
9:30am – 4:30pm. |
| Cost: |
£5500.00 (residential)
(dormitory-style accommodation with catering Monday-Friday, self-cater weekends)
£3500.00 (non-residential) |
| Pre-requisites: |
None but some experience would be a distinct advantage. |
| Course Aim: |
This course is aimed at those who wish to gain or improve their qualifications and experience to enable them to work in the outdoor education industry as a multi-activity instructor. |
| Qualifications: |
During the course you will have the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge and qualifications in the following :-
Mountain Medicine - First Aid for the Outdoors Certificate (HSE First Aid at Work Standard)
British Canoe Union 2 & 3 Star Open Canoe Awards and Safety Test
British Canoe Union Level 1 Open Canoe Coach Award
British Canoe Union Level 2 Open Canoe Coach Training (Assessment available for suitably experienced candidates)
British Canoe Union 2 & 3 Star Kayak Awards and Safety Test
British Canoe Union Level 1 Kayak Coach Award
British Canoe Union Level 2 Kayak Coach Training (available for suitably experienced candidates)
South West Mountain & Moorland Leader Training Scheme - Summer Camping Leader Award
Mountain Leader Training Board – Mountain Leader (Summer) Training
Cornwall County Council – Climbing Wall Supervisor Award
Mountain Leader Training Board – Single Pitch Award Training (Assessment available for suitably experienced candidates)
Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme (MIAS) - Level 2 Award
Cornwall County Council Certification for :-
Archery, Orienteering, Raft Building, Problem Solving / Team Building
Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to work with various clients to develop group management skills. |
